Idea
The Mondlampe began with a simple question: could a fragment of broken glass, usually destined for landfill, be reshaped into something that gives light instead of being discarded? The result is a lamp that references the moon's surface — imperfect, textured, and quietly luminous.
Material
Every glass fragment used in the Mondlampe was sourced from discarded panes and containers. Brass fittings, salvaged from older lighting hardware, anchor the piece and carry its warm, handcrafted tone.
Process
The glass is cut, layered and fused by hand, then mounted onto a brass frame built to hold and diffuse light evenly across the surface.
Final Piece
Switched on, the Mondlampe casts a warm, uneven glow across the room — a second life for glass that would otherwise have been lost.
